Yuan Jiajun, Hu Henghua, and Wang Jiong Receive Important Domestic and International Guests Attending 7th WCIFIT and Tour the Exhibition

On the afternoon of May 21, Yuan Jiajun, Secretary of the Chongqing Municipal Party Committee; Hu Henghua, Deputy Secretary of the Chongqing Municipal Party Committee and Mayor of Chongqing Municipal Government; and Wang Jiong, Director of the Standing Committee of the Chongqing Municipal People's Congress, received important domestic and international guests who had come to Chongqing to attend the 7th Western China International Fair for Investment and Trade.

Vice Secretary of the CPC Qinghai Provincial Committee and Governor Luo Dongchuan; Vice Minister to Foreign Affairs of Thailand Dr. Lalivan Karnchanachari; Honorary President of the China International Council for the Promotion of Multinational Corporations Shang Fulin; General Manager of China South Industries Group Corporation Zhou Zhiping; Veolia Group Global Senior Vice President Huang Xiaojun; Deloitte China CEO-designate Liu Minghua, among others, attended the meeting.

On behalf of the Chongqing Municipal Party Committee, the Municipal Government, and the people of Chongqing, Yuan Jiajun welcomed all guests to the city for the fair and expressed his appreciation for their strong support and high level of attention to the event and to Chongqing's development. Yuan Jiajun noted that WCIFIT is one of the most dynamic and influential international events in western China. It is increasingly becoming a vital window to showcase the modernization achievements of the western region, a key platform to share development opportunities between western China and the world, and an important bridge connecting domestic and international investment and trade. This year's WCIFIT, themed "New Western China, New Manufacturing, New Services", has attracted guests and exhibitors from many countries and regions around the world to gather in the Mountain City Chongqing, offering a broad platform for all parties to explore, understand, and invest in western China through Chongqing.

Yuan stated that the whole city is now earnestly studying and implementing the important speeches and instructions delivered by President Xi Jinping during his inspection of Chongqing. With a focus on solidifying the "Two Major Orientations" and playing "three roles", the city is striving to make new progress in high-quality development. Moving forward, Chongqing will continue to implement the Chengdu-Chongqing Economic Circle, enhance the capacity of its "33618" modern manufacturing cluster system, promote the construction of hub-port industrial parks, accelerate the development of a modern multimodal logistics and distribution system and a comprehensive open service system, and focus on building high-level open platforms and steadily expanding institutional opening-up. The city is also committed to becoming an innovation-driven, open, convenient, livable, eco-friendly, smart, and culturally rich city - a source of momentum for high-quality development in western China. He expressed hope that guests would take WCIFIT as an opportunity to deepen understanding, strengthen friendship, and expand cooperation. He welcomed their participation in developing of New International Land-Sea Trade Corridor, in building modern manufacturing cluster, and in further expanding international economic and trade cooperation, to achieve high-level mutual benefit and win-win outcomes. Chongqing, he emphasized, will continue to provide high-quality services and a favorable environment for both domestic and international enterprises to invest and operate in the city.

On behalf of the attendees, Dr. Lalivan Karnchanachari, Shang Fulin, Zhou Zhiping, Huang Xiaojun, and Liu Minghua expressed their gratitude for Chongqing's warm reception and thoughtful arrangements. They noted that Chongqing is a vibrant, international metropolis with a solid industrial foundation, a favorable business environment, and strong momentum for high-quality development. These strengths present new opportunities for domestic and international enterprises to enhance regional economic, trade, and industrial cooperation. Looking ahead, the participants pledged to make good use of the WCIFIT platform, deepen communication and engagement, expand areas of cooperation, and transform their shared vision into joint actions. They aim to advance mutually beneficial cooperation to a new level and achieve tangible outcomes.

Prior to the meeting, Yuan Jiajun, Luo Dongchuan, Hu Henghua, Wang Jiong, and Dr. Lalivan Karnchanachari toured the exhibition at the central hall of the Chongqing International Expo Center. They visited exhibition areas including the Chongqing Pavilion, Thailand Pavilion, Sichuan Pavilion, and Hong Kong Pavilion, and toured booths of companies such as Adient, Namchow Food Group, CASC, China Merchants Group, China Resources Group, Aluminum Corporation of China, and MSCF. They viewed high-tech product displays and learned about product performance and development trends.

Among the attendees were foreign political figures and heads of consulates, officials from sister provinces and special administrative regions, executives from central and local state-owned enterprises (SOEs) and private enterprises, representatives of Fortune Global 500 and other multinational companies, as well as leaders of domestic and international business associations, institutions, and academic experts. Relevant municipal leaders of Chongqing and heads of municipal departments were also present.
