WCIFIT Overview
The Western China International Fair for Investment and Trade (WCIFIT), hosted by the Chongqing Municipal People’s Government, serves as a key venue for international engagement, trade cooperation, and investment promotion. It plays a key role in advancing both domestic and international cooperation, and is also a major window for western China to showcase its image and expand openness to the world.
Rooted in Chongqing’s “Two Positionings” as Key Strategic Anchor of Large-Scale Western Development for a New Era and a Comprehensive Hub for Opening-Up in Inland China, the WCIFIT gives full play to the city’s “Three Key Roles.” It supports major national strategies such as the Chengdu-Chongqing Twin-Hub Mega-Region, the New International Land-Sea Trade Corridor (ILSTC) and the high-quality development of the Yangtze River Economic Belt, and strives to create a dynamic platform for trade and investment cooperation. The Fair actively builds platforms for trade and investment cooperation, highlights western China’s overall opening-up strategy, industrial development, and investment promotion needs, and works to foster a new open economic system aligned with global standards. It continues to cultivate new drivers for global development and contributes to integrating western China into economic globalization and promoting coordinated development among the eastern, central and western regions.
The 8th WCIFIT is scheduled to be held form May 21 to 24, 2026, at the Chongqing International Expo Center and the Chongqing Yuelai International Convention Center. Four major thematic exhibition zones are planned—namely the Comprehensive Image Exhibition Zone, Producer Services Exhibition Zone, Integrated Industrial Development Exhibition Zone and International & Regional Cooperation Exhibition Zone—covering a total exhibition area of 110,000 square meters.
