Chongqing Holds Commencement and Commissioning Ceremony for Third Batch of Major Projects in 2025

Yuan Jiajun Attends and Announces Project Launch; Hu Henghua Delivers Speech

On the morning of November 26, the citywide commencement and commissioning ceremony for the third batch of major projects in 2025 was held in Dadukou District. Yuan Jiajun, Secretary of the Chongqing Municipal Party Committee, attended the event and officially announced the launch and operation of the projects. 

Hu Henghua, Deputy Secretary of the Chongqing Municipal Party Committee and Mayor, delivered a speech. The ceremony was presided over by Chen Xinwu, Deputy Secretary of the Chongqing Municipal Party Committee and Executive Vice Mayor. Other municipal leaders in attendance included Lu Hong, Luo Lin, Liu Shangjin, Zheng Xiangdong, and Xu Jian.

Upon arriving at the venue, Yuan Jiajun and Hu Henghua received briefings on the third batch of major projects, key initiatives in the field of people's livelihoods, and project-specific updates from Dadukou District. Video reports on project progress were also delivered by representatives from Liangjiang New Area, Wanzhou District, Qianjiang District, Fuling District, Changshou District, Jiangjin District, Bishan District, and Kaizhou District.

At approximately 9:50 a.m., Yuan Jiajun declared: "The third batch of major projects for 2025 - commence and begin operation!"

The Sixth Plenary Session of the 8th Chongqing Municipal Party Committee outlined a systematic blueprint for the municipality's 15th Five-Year Plan. The ceremony represents a concrete step toward implementing the spirit of the plenary session, demonstrating Chongqing's commitment to concluding the 14th Five-Year Plan with determined effort and launching the 15th Five-Year Plan with strong momentum. The Chongqing Municipal Party Committee and Chongqing Municipal Government have urged all districts, departments, and relevant entities to maintain a clear focus on project-driven development, plan and reserve a new batch of major projects aligned with the 15th Five-Year Plan goals, and strengthen preparatory work, approval procedures, and resource support to accelerate project implementation and generate tangible investment outcomes. Project owners and construction units have been instructed to strictly adhere to safety, quality, and environmental standards, work against detailed schedules, and strive for early completion and operational efficiency of all projects.

This batch includes 177 projects with a total investment exceeding RMB 180 billion, spanning modern industries, infrastructure, social livelihoods, and ecological protection. These initiatives are expected to unleash domestic demand potential and foster new quality productive forces, injecting fresh momentum into Chongqing's high-quality development.

The main venue was attended by leaders from relevant municipal departments, project owners, and construction units, while other districts and counties participated via video link in branch venues.
