Chongqing Initiates Compilation of Intelligent Robotics Industry Chain Directory, Anchoring Development Along Six Key Axes
On January 13, the Chongqing Economic and Information Commission announced that the municipality has officially commenced the compilation of the Chongqing Intelligent Robotics Industry Chain Directory (2026 Edition) (hereinafter referred to as the "Directory"). The initiative aims to interconnect the upstream and downstream sectors of the robotics industry by focusing on six key development dimensions: core components, software & algorithms, integrated systems, downstream applications, inspection & services, and R&D commercialization. This strategic move is designed to propel the holistic development of the entire industry chain.
According to the framework outlined in the Directory, the core components sector will encompass R&D and manufacturing entities specializing in key parts such as controllers, servo motors, precision reducers, as well as dedicated chips and high-performance composite materials. The software and algorithms domain will concentrate on enterprises engaged in the development of robotics operating systems, machine vision algorithms, and large-scale AI models. The integrated systems segment will cover R&D for industrial, service, special-purpose, and humanoid robots, alongside system integrators for automation production lines in pivotal industries such as automotive and electronics. Furthermore, on the downstream application front, the initiative will target entities applying robotics across diverse scenarios including industrial production, modern agriculture, medical care and elderly support, and security & emergency response. It will also encompass the exploration of cutting-edge applications in areas like the low-altitude economy and human-robot collaboration.
"Currently, a cohort of local and external robotics enterprises in our municipality have established a series of exemplary demonstration scenarios, serving as dynamic benchmarks for the industry chain's development," stated an official from the Terminal Equipment Division of the Chongqing Economic and Information Commission. In the field of special-purpose robots, Chongqing-based SevnceRobotics has deepened its expertise in explosion-proof applications. Its self-developed quadruped explosion-proof robot, equipped with more than 500 advanced algorithms, is capable of performing inspection and rescue missions in flammable and explosive environments such as oil and gas fields. In the industrial robotics application sector, the AGV intelligent handling robots developed by Chongqing Jiaten Robot & Automation have been deeply integrated into the automotive manufacturing supply chain. The company's products not only serve industries like automotive and electronics but have also expanded into niche applications such as agricultural sericulture and municipal services.
In the arena of intelligent robotics, the wholly-owned subsidiary of Unitree Robotics, a global leader in embodied artificial intelligence, has officially established its presence in Dadukou District. Named Chongqing Yuyi Technology Co., Ltd., the company plans to focus on the R&D and manufacturing of humanoid robots, with a strategic emphasis on deep integration and adaptation to local application scenarios such as automotive manufacturing and mountainous terrain inspection. Concurrently, Bishan District has joined hands with Galbot AI Co., Ltd. to co-establish an Industrial Innovation Center for Embodied AI Robotics. The center targets application scenarios involving thousands of robot units. The establishment of these industry leaders is poised to accelerate breakthroughs in scientific research, innovation, and the commercialization of technological achievements. This development is expected to effectively address the existing gap in Chongqing's high-end robot manipulator manufacturing capabilities.
The Chongqing Economic and Information Commission stated that, building upon the framework of the Directory, it will strengthen the leading and driving role of "chain master" enterprises. The goal is to foster the formation of a complete, closed-loop industrial ecosystem encompassing "core components - high-end complete machine - system integration - scenario application." This strategic move aims to solidify the industrial foundation necessary for the widespread implementation and application of "Robotics +" initiatives.
