The 7th WCIFIT | 2025 "Chongqing Products Gather Online" E-Commerce Resource Matchmaking Conference Kicks Off; Western China Enterprises Rush to Board the "E-Commerce Express"

On May 22, during the 7th Western China International Fair for Investment and Trade (WCIFIT), the 2025 "Chongqing Products Gather Online" E-Commerce Resource Matchmaking Conference and the Selection of New E-commerce Resources (hereinafter referred to as the "E-commerce Resource Matchmaking Conference") was held at the Chongqing International Expo Center. It attracted 700 brand enterprises, leading national e-commerce platforms, and over 100 MCN agencies to gather in Chongqing. Eight key digital commerce projects in Chongqing were signed in a single ceremony, and the e-commerce public brand "Chongqing Products Gather Online" was released.
Chongqing expands the e-commerce "circle of friends" for merchants in the Western China.
At 1 p.m. that afternoon, the central hall of Chongqing International Expo Center buzzed with excitement as merchants and influencers had already engaged in multiple rounds of discussions even before the official start of the resource-matching session.

"We arrived at 9:00 AM this morning, and within just half a day, we've reached preliminary agreements with several top platforms and livestream hosts, added over 20 influencers on WeChat - including the recently viral 'Braised Goose Brother,' "said Chen Dehuan, e-commerce manager of Easelife. He shared that last year, through the Chongqing Municipal Commission of Commerce's "618" E-Commerce Resource Conference, the company partnered with East Buy, and their new mint-flavored water became an instant hit upon launch, boosting annual online sales by nearly 50%.
On-site, merchants actively promoted their products while major e-commerce platforms extended collaboration opportunities. "Are you already on Kuaishou? Would you like to learn about this year's 618 promotional mechanisms? "asked He Yiqiu, a Kuaishou marketplace representative, as he handed his business card to the owner of a condiment stall from Fengdu.

"The volume of seasonings from Sichuan and Chongqing on the Kuaishou e-commerce shelf is relatively high. Brands like Chongqing De Zhuang Hotpot and Sichuan Cuihong Food Co., Ltd. are our important customers." He Yiqiu told the reporter that coming to the scene today is to hope that more seasoning merchants can settle on Kuaishou, open up their online channels, and at the same time answer questions for merchants with problems for operators.
Beyond local Chongqing businesses, enterprises from Yunnan, Guizhou, Sichuan, and Xinjiang also participated, leveraging offline face-to-face interactions to forge online "cloud-to-cloud" partnerships. A Chongqing Municipal Commission of Commerce official highlighted that, focusing on cultivating new growth points in online consumption, the municipality has hosted the annual "Chongqing 618" E-Commerce Festival for nine consecutive years. With monthly themes and weekly featured promotions, the initiative has pioneered a new era of integrated e-commerce development between eastern and western China.

In recent years, Chongqing's e-commerce sector has experienced rapid growth. By the end of 2024, the municipality was home to 103,700 e-commerce enterprises and 733,000 online stores, having successfully cultivated four national-level e-commerce demonstration enterprises and five national e-commerce demonstration parks.
At the scene of the E-commerce Resource Matchmaking Conference, 8 key digital commerce projects in Chongqing were signed collectively, including the Chongqing Food Digital Marketing Base, the Yaoting Food E-commerce Supply Chain Infrastructure Project, the Cultural Empowerment of E-commerce Development in Fuling District through Response Support, the Chongqing Digital Commerce Innovation Center Project, the Southwest (Dadukou) Live E-commerce Industrial Park of Yowant Technology, the E-commerce Industry Digital Marketing Base in the Hinterland of Chengdu-Chongqing (Rongchang), the Tiktok Zuoting Project, and the Weidian 24 Southwest Strategic First City Project.

Last year, Chongqing launched the e-commerce public brand "Chongqing Products Gather Online" and joined hands with Sichuan, Yunnan, and Guizhou to create a coordinated "Digital Commerce Explosive Products" online sales plan. This year, "Chongqing Products Gather Online" has expanded its reach. At the site of this year's conference, Chongqing announced the "Chongqing Products Gather Online" Shine Plan, with Zhejiang Province and the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region newly joining in. Since then, the six provinces, municipalities and autonomous regions will join forces to make concerted efforts in channels, brands, products, marketing and other aspects, explore new digital routes, and light up a new map of e-commerce.
In addition, as a key event of the 2025 Chongqing 6·18 E-commerce Festival, this E-commerce Resource Matchmaking Conference also saw e-commerce platforms such as Vipshop, TikTok, Meituan, and Xiaohongshu launch the "Mountain City Courtesy · E-commerce Super Welfare Giveaway", issuing subsidies for car purchases and a large number of high-value consumption vouchers for dining, entertainment, and other activities to consumers.
Chongqing embraces the e-commerce wave citywide
In recent years, Chongqing has focused on the e-commerce to empower the development of industries, helping the tertiary industry to embrace digitalization and move towards innovation. In the online product industrial belts such as Chongqing hotpot, Chongqing noodles, and Fengjie navel oranges, there has been a continuous stream of "hit products".

By concentrating on new e-commerce formats and scenarios, the municipality has implemented a "Live Streaming +" consumption empowerment initiative, organizing themed events like "Chongqing Lifestyle·Live Streaming Seasons" and the "China Hotpot Live E-Commerce Festival." These have attracted top-tier influencers and institutions nationwide to endorse Chongqing products and boost sales for local businesses.
To foster a thriving e-commerce ecosystem, Chongqing launched the Chongqing E-Commerce Public Service Platform and introduced programs such as "Chongqing E-Commerce Learns from the Nation" and the "Dream Homeland E-Commerce Salon Series." The municipality has fully immersed itself in the e-commerce wave, actively unleashing new potential for digital consumption.
A spokesperson for the Chongqing Municipal Commission of Commerce stated that the Digital Chongqing initiative has accelerated the momentum of the modernized metropolis. The paradigm shift brought by digital transformation has laid a solid foundation and provided wings for e-commerce to soar, promising to elevate the high-quality development of e-commerce in Western China. Chongqing will expedite digital transformation in the commercial sector, revitalizing traditional industries through digital empowerment.
