The 5th WCIFIT | Ranks 4th in the Country! Chongqing is Selected into the 2023 Forbes China Consumption Vitality City List

On May 19, the 2023 Forbes China · Urban Consumption Development Forum was held in Chongqing. Reporters learned from the forum that the "2023 Forbes China Consumption Vitality City List" was officially released, with Chongqing ranking 4th, only after Beijing, Shanghai and Guangzhou.

As a sub-forum event of the 5th Western China International Fair for Investment and Trade (WCIFIT), this forum, themed "New Consumption Vitality, New Opportunities in Chongqing", was co-hosted by Forbes China Group, Chongqing Municipal Commission of Commerce, and the People's Government of Chongqing, Yuzhong District.

At the venue, important guests including industry leaders, renowned entrepreneurs, experts and scholars, representatives from top investment institutions, and government representatives gathered together to discuss how to further stimulate consumption vitality and promote high-quality development of urban economy. Xu Hongcai, Deputy Director of the Economic Policy Committee of China Association of Policy Science, Lin Kaiyin, Vice President of Marketing and Communications at Lincoln China, and Li Zhongmin, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Outlet (China), delivered wonderful keynote speeches in succession.

Xu Hongcai stated that the accelerated innovation and application of digital technologies in China will continuously give rise to new consumption formats and models, bringing consumers more convenient and novel consumption scenario experiences, while creating more new employment opportunities. Digital consumption will also surely contribute to expanding domestic demand, stabilizing growth, and promoting transformation, while continuously injecting new impetus and vitality into high-quality economic development.

In addition, Dong Mingliang, General Manager of Parmigiani Fleurier in China, Mei Ping, Head of Capella Hotel Group in China, Xu Dawei, Partner of Harvest Capital, and Jiang Dawei, Senior Advisor to Institute for Global Private Equity, Tsinghua University and Executive Director of Toplist, also exchanged views and discussed around the theme of "Tapping into China's New Consumption Potential".

  On the same day, an awarding ceremony was also held for the "2023 Forbes China Consumption Vitality Cities".
