This year's major project signing event demonstrated the following key features:
Investment enthusiasm continues soaring.
Against the backdrop of a sluggish global economic recovery, Chongqing's investment environment has been favored by investors, with policies earning recognition, investment willingness rising, and projects multiplying. This signing event follows the major project signing organized during the "Chongqing Tour of Well-Known Zhejiang Entrepreneurs" earlier this year.
Compared with last year, this signing event grew steadily in scale: 89 projects ranging from RMB1 to 5 billion, 12 projects ranging from RMB5 to 10 billion, 4 projects exceeding RMB10 billion. These figures have marked fruitful results.
Wide range of project sources
Chongqing's sustained economic growth has attracted numerous high-quality domestic and foreign enterprises to invest and establish businesses.
The investment projects signed at this event mainly come from provinces and cities such as Guangdong, Sichuan, Jiangsu, and Beijing, Shanghai and Jiangsu. Among them, there are 4 projects from Fortune Global 500 companies, 25 projects from national-level high-tech enterprises, and 25 projects from industry-leading enterprises, all of which have good demonstration and leading effects.
Investment fields cover a wide range
This year's WCIFIT focuses on supporting the acceleration of a modern industrial system in Western China, adhering to pragmatic and market-oriented principles, and promoting deep integration of advanced manufacturing and modern services.
Centering on building the "33618" modern manufacturing cluster system -
62 projects in the three RMB-1-trillion leading industries,
with contracts worth RMB110.628 billion,
50 projects in the three RMB-500-billion pillar industries,
with formal contracts worth RMB63.912 billion,
24 projects in the six RMB-100-billion specialty and advantageous industries,
with formal contracts worth RMB39.47 billion,
realizing full coverage of the "33618" modern manufacturing cluster system.
Modern service projects focused on software and IT services, industrial design, inspection and testing, logistics services and other producer services, extending the industrial chain. A total of 58 projects were signed, with formal contracts worth RMB88.423 billion, further empowering the municipality's high-quality manufacturing development.
Emphasis is placed on supplementing, strengthening, and extending industrial chains.
Focusing on the underdeveloped and blank segments of the city's industrial chains, this WCIFIT signed 45 projects to supplement and strengthen industrial chains with a total amount of RMB137.284 billion. These projects will further supplement and improve the supply chain systems of key industries such as automobiles and auto parts, integrated circuits, new energy storage, new display technologies, and intelligent equipment manufacturing in the city.
Representative projects include: Gecko Commercial Vehicle R&D Base and Vehicle Manufacturing Plant, Yusai Industrial Park, Nuobikan Machine Vision Intelligent Equipment Production Headquarters, Industrial-Grade Drone R&D and Manufacturing Center, China Unicom (Western) Digital Eco-Industrial Park, which will enhance the resilience and security of key industrial chains.
Central SOEs - Chongqing Cooperation become closer
Chongqing has continued focusing on aligning with, introducing, and serving central SOEs, treating central SOEs - Chongqing cooperation projects as a key driver for stabilizing investment and growth. The municipality actively seeks to host major projects of central SOEs to settle in, especially in industries such as automobiles and new energy, to promote the formation of a new pattern of deep and comprehensive cooperation and development among central SOEs in our municipality.
This WCIFIT saw the signing of 15 major central SOEs - Chongqing cooperation projects, including 13 projects with formal contract values exceeding RMB1 billion. It involved partnerships with 15 central SOEs such as Sinopec, China Unicom, and China South Industries Group Corporation, China Resources Group and CGN, with formal contract values totaling RMB34.951 billion.
Internationalization and influence have become more prominent.
This major project signing closely aligns with the conference theme of "New Western China, New Manufacturing, New Services," transforming the effects of the international event into industrial development momentum, continuously improving the level and quality of international investment attraction, and promoting the expansion and quality improvement of foreign investment.
This year's WCIFIT saw 12 foreign-invested projects signed, with formal contracts totaling RMB26.724 billion. These projects cover areas such as intelligent connected new energy vehicles, intelligent manufacturing, modern finance, testing and inspection services, and biomedicine, involving investors from Russia, Spain, Japan, Hong Kong, Taiwan, and 12 countries and regions in total.
Sister provinces in Western China also shared new development opportunities: Sichuan Province and Guizhou Province signed 4 projects with a total contract value of RMB 2.45 billion during the signing ceremony.
The successful signing and implementation
of this batch of major projects
will enhance Chongqing's industrial capabilities and core competitiveness,
expand new space and inject new momentum
into building a modern industrial system,
and support Chongqing in becoming an important growth pole
for high-quality development in the new era of high-quality development.
