The 7th WCIFIT

Signed Projects

WCIFIT | 124 Major Projects Signed with Total Contract Value Exceeding RMB200 Billion

On May 22, the signing ceremony for major projects of the 7th Western China International Fair for Investment and Trade (WCIFIT) was grandly held at Chongqing International Expo Center. A total of 124 projects were signed on-site, with formal contract values exceeding RMB200 billion. During the WCIFIT, district and county governments are set to sign additional projects with a total value exceeding RMB100 billion.

As one of the WCIFIT's core events, the ceremony centered on the theme of "New Western China, New Manufacturing, New Services", not only bringing together global high-quality resources to facilitate the implementation of a number of highly influential and driving projects in Western China, but also injecting new momentum into the region's high-quality economic development.

The signed projects at this year's WCIFIT primarily demonstrate the following characteristics:

The first is to facilitate orderly industrial relocation. Among the signed projects, 122 industrial projects - with a total contracted investment of nearly RMB 170 billion - were from eastern and central regions such as Guangdong, Zhejiang, Shanghai, Hubei, Hunan, and Jiangxi, accounting for over half of the total contract value. Notably, 110 projects are from eastern provinces, with Guangdong, Zhejiang, and Shanghai serving as the primary sources of industrial relocation to Chongqing.

The second is jointly building the New International Land-Sea Trade Corridor. Chongqing has proactively supported national strategies by strengthening industrial chain collaboration with provinces and cities along the New International Land-Sea Trade Corridor, including Sichuan, Shaanxi, Guizhou, and Guangxi. A total of 46 industrial cooperation projects were signed, with a contracted value of nearly RMB40 billion.

The third is simultaneous growth in quantity and quality. Nearly 100 major projects with individual values exceeding RMB1 billion were signed, accounting for over 80% of the total contract value at approximately RMB260 billion. A total of 62 projects were secured with Fortune Global 500 companies, "Specialized, Refined, Distinctive and Innovative" enterprises, industry leaders, and listed companies, representing nearly RMB100 billion in contract value or about 30% of the total. The implementation of these projects will provide strong support for developing new quality productive forces in Chongqing.

Fourth, the event strengthens and extends key industrial chains. Close to 170 projects - with a total contracted value of nearly RMB160 billion, accounting for over half of the total signed investment - focus on reinforcing, extending, and upgrading key industrial chains, including intelligent connected new energy vehicles, next-generation electronic information manufacturing, and advanced materials. These signed projects will further optimize Chongqing's key industrial and supply chain systems, bolstering competitiveness in critical segments of the industrial chains.

The WCIFIT Major Project Signing Ceremony constitutes one of the "Invest in Chongqing Exhibition Meets Enterprises" series of investment promotion initiatives. Designed to leverage the "magnetic effect" of various exhibition activities, it continuously expands cooperation boundaries, transforming "visiting" exhibitors into "settled" investors.

Moving forward, the Chongqing Economic and Information Commission will actively prepare for the 2025 World Smart Industry Expo series of investment promotion activities, and cordially invite domestic and international enterprises, institutions and innovation teams to participate, aiming to deepen exchanges, enhance cooperation, and share development opportunities.
