On May 23, the signing ceremony for major projects of the 6th Western China International Fair for Investment and Trade (WCIFIT) was held at Chongqing Yuelai International Convention Center. Jiulongpo District signed three projects with a total contract value of RMB5.5 billion, with the cumulative contract output value expected to exceed RMB45 billion within five years.
According to information, the three projects signed include: the National Headquarters for R&D, sales, and manufacturing of clean and efficient coal utilization equipment; the PTAC Huawei HarmonyOS Ecological Industrial Park; and JD MALL. These projects cover fields such as intelligent equipment and manufacturing, software and information technology services, and commercial services.
Jiulongpo, as a core urban district of Chongqing and a leading core demonstration zone for the Chongqing Hub Port, is a vital industrial base for fully implementing the Party and state's positioning of Chongqing in the new era as a strategic hinterland for the Chengdu-Chongqing economic circle, an important strategic pivot for the Western Development in the new era, and an comprehensive hub for inland opening-up. The district plays a key role in industrial manufacturing, trade logistics, and the digital economy. Since the beginning of 2024, Jiulongpo has signed 43 projects with a total contracted investment of RMB30.5 billion.
The National Headquarters project for R&D, sales, and manufacturing of clean and efficient coal utilization equipment is jointly invested by Chongqing Furan Technology Co., Ltd., Hainan Ranfu Technology Investment Co., Ltd., and a third partner company, with a total investment of RMB3 billion. Located in Jiulongpo, the project will serve as the national headquarters, leveraging two core technologies - graded and classified clean coal utilization and oxy-fuel combustion. The project aims to realize clean and efficient utilization of coal resources while improving energy efficiency, load regulation, and emission reduction in coal-fired power boilers, thereby contributing to the optimization and transformation of the regional energy structure. Currently, Furan has signed projects with an annual low-rank coal processing capacity of 16.4 million tons, supplying 41 sets of equipment with a total output value exceeding RMB8 billion.
PTAC Huawei HarmonyOS Ecological Industrial Park project, invested by China National Postal and Telecommunications Appliances Corp. with an investment of RMB1.5 billion, is jointly developed with JD.com platform. The project will establish the Huawei HarmonyOS Intelligent Integrated Terminal National Sales Center and the first Huawei HarmonyOS Intelligent Mobility Super Experience Center in Southwest China in Jiulongpo District. The sales center will exhibit and sell Huawei HarmonyOS terminal products - including audio devices, wearables, and smart home systems - nationwide, with annual sales projected to exceed RMB1 billion. The super experience center, as the first of its kind in Southwest China, will provide customers with a new experience in whole-vehicle delivery and services for Huawei Smart Selection vehicles.
The JD MALL project marks the opening of Chongqing's first JD MALL, invested by JD Five Star Electrical Appliances Group Co., Ltd. with a total investment of RMB1 billion. Covering a total construction area of 60,000 square meters, it is currently the country's largest block-propositional, curation-themed comprehensive commercial complex. Located in Jiulongpo's Yangjiaping Zhengsheng Broadway, the project integrates immersive scene experiences, cutting-edge technologies, JD's extensive self-operated product lineup, marketing synergies, and city-level services, all built upon JD's IoT big data architecture. Chongqing JD MALL held a soft opening during the May Day holiday this year, attracting over 200,000 consumers, and is scheduled for official opening on June 15. It is expected to drive home appliance and home furnishing consumption in the region and inject fresh momentum into the high-quality development of Jiulongpo's new business district.
