Bazhong, Sichuan Showcases at WCIFIT, Signs Over RMB160 Million in Contracts

"Affection for the Old Revolutionary Base Areas, Chongqing Meets Bazhong Products". From May 18 to 21, the 5th Western China International Fair for Investment and Trade (WCIFIT) was held in Chongqing. During the event, Bazhong City of Sichuan Province organized its counties and districts, relevant municipal departments, and more than 30 local enterprises to actively promote investment and cooperation. By leveraging the fair, they carefully organized enterprises to showcase their brands and seek business opportunities, attracting a batch of quality projects with contracts exceeding RMB160 million.

"A supplier of green products and an industrial cooperation and supporting base for the Chengdu-Chongqing region, as well as an important northern gateway hub of the Chengdu-Chongqing area." - This is the development goal set by the Bazhong Municipal Party Committee and Government to integrate into the Chengdu-Chongqing Economic Circle. According to a Bazhong official, presenting the city's high-quality "Bazhong-produced and Bazhong-made" products to Chongqing citizens became a key focus of Bazhong's participation in this WCIFIT.

On May 17, ahead of the 5th WCIFIT, a Chongqing promotion event for high-quality "Bazhong-produced and Bazhong-made" products was held, attracting 150 enterprises.

At the event, representative companies from Bazhong's counties and districts displayed six categories of 22 branded Premium Local Products, including selenium-enriched tea, premium meat products, traditional Chinese medicine products, new material goods, renowned baijiu, and modern condiments. Featured items included Tongjiang snow fungus (known as "crown of mushrooms"), Qingyu black pigs (which have passed EU-China "dual organic certification" for seven consecutive years and are listed as a protected genetic resource in China), the smooth and mellow Jiang Kou Chun liquor, and Liao Jia Beef - a millennium-old marinated delicacy "fragrant across the Guanzhong Plain". Three online influencers hosted live-streaming sales, offering nonstop "cloud shopping" excitement.

"Sichuan and Chongqing share kinship as close as family. I feel obliged to bring Bazhong's Premium Local Products to Chongqing, and our chamber will amplify the voice of Bazhong's quality products through various channels," said Wang Xiaoming, president of the Chongqing Bazhong Chamber of Commerce.

It is reported that at this year's WCIFIT, 10 enterprises from Bazhong signed procurement agreements with 22 enterprises from Chongqing, with a total contract value of more than RMB160 million, covering products such as baijiu, prepared foods, condiments, tea, goat meat, preserved meat products, walnut oil, and aluminum veneer.

Additionally, the Chongqing Beibei District Commission of Commerce and the Bazhong Municipal Bureau of Commerce of Sichuan Province signed a Cooperation Agreement on Integrating into the Chengdu-Chongqing Economic Circle. Both parties will leverage their comparative advantages, enhance resource sharing, and prioritize collaboration in modern commerce, e-commerce, logistics, and external exchanges to deepen their integration into the regional development strategy.
