The 7th WCIFIT | Thailand Officially Certified! Over 100 Products! Explore Authentic Thai Specialties at the Thai Pavilion →
At 11:45 a.m. on May 22, the Thai Pavilion officially opened at the 7th Western China International Fair for Investment and Trade (WCIFIT). A large number of visitors flooded into the pavilion to engage with businesses, purchase products, and inquire about services, etc.

"Is this durian for sale?" "Yes, but we only have these few left - once they're gone, they're gone." At the Charoen Pokphand Group booth in the Thai Pavilion, a visitor received this confirmation and immediately scanned the QR code with her phone to make a purchase.

Charoen Pokphand Group, also known as CP Group, is a diversified Thai conglomerate. Many of its products, such as eggs and coconut milk, are already available in China. A staff member explained that the company seized the opportunity at WCIFIT to showcase its products on-site, aiming to further elevate its brand recognition domestically and foster future collaborations.
"Red Bull" also has a similar goal. In the Thai Pavilion, many people are scanning codes to receive free cans of the well-known energy drink Red Bull. Staff highlighted that Red Bull, though now a household name in China, originated in Thailand. For this year's WCIFIT, the brand specifically requested a booth in the Thai Pavilion to help attendees better understand its heritage and story.
These were just two of over 40 enterprises spanning catering, healthcare, tourism, industry, and finance that set up displays at the venue. Nearly every booth attracted inquiries, particularly those offering ointments, gourmet foods, and services like tourism and healthcare, where attendees with partnership intentions engaged in on-site discussions.
Thailand is the guest country of honor at this year's WCIFIT. Therefore, Thailand curated a 600-square-meter thematic pavilion featuring over 100 distinctive exhibits. These items ranged from centuries-old artisanal masterpieces to innovative achievements of modern industrial advancement, embodying Thailand's unique charm of "harmonious coexistence between tradition and modernity."

The pavilion featured an array of quintessential Thai products, including classic snacks and condiments like dried durian, dried mango, and tom yum paste, as well as beverages like Red Bull, coconut milk, and butterfly pea tea. Other highlights included skincare products like facial cleansers and masks infused with lemongrass and fermented rice extracts, alongside 925 silver jewelry and latex pillows - all embodying authentic Thai craftsmanship and local flavors.
Beyond the exhibition, Thailand and Chongqing will co-host the China (Chongqing) -Thailand Economic, Trade, Investment, and Financial Cooperation Development Conference during WCIFIT to deepen bilateral collaboration in the financial sector.
An official from the Chongqing Municipal Commission of Commerce noted that following the launch of the China-Laos Railway, Chongqing capitalized on this opportunity by initiating direct freight train services to Thailand via the New International Land-Sea Trade Corridor in 2023, providing a more efficient logistics channel and accelerating economic exchanges between the two regions.
In September 2023, the "Chongqing Trade with World" brand exhibition made its ASEAN debut in Bangkok, where Chongqing enterprises secured trade orders worth USD50 million, with motorcycles, agricultural machinery, and prepared dishes labeled "Chongqing-made" gaining significant traction. In April 2025, Chongqing-Bangkok direct flights increased to 28 weekly flights, becoming Chongqing's most frequent international route. In September 2024, the 2024 China (Chongqing) - Thailand Economic and Trade Matchmaking Conference was successfully held at Chongqing Lianglu Guoyuan Port Comprehensive Bonded Zone.
According to data from Chongqing Customs, in 2024, the foreign trade import and export volume between Chongqing and Thailand reached RMB 22 billion, a year-on-year increase of 35.9%; In the first quarter of this year, the import and export volume between the two sides reached RMB5.8 billion, a year-on-year increase of 18.7%. Among ASEAN countries, Thailand ranks among the top three in terms of foreign trade import and export volume with Chongqing.
