In September 2022, the New Energy Vehicle Brand Cluster was established in Beijing, aiming to consolidate premium domestic NEV industry resources and accelerate the cultivation of internationally renowned brands. The Center serves as the executive body of the New Energy Vehicle Brand Cluster.
As reported, leveraging Chongqing's dual advantages of industrial agglomeration and inland openness, the Center is positioned as an international non-profit organization in the automotive brand sector. It promotes global NEV development and win-win cooperation through professional brand-building initiatives, striving to become both a key engine and central hub for advancing worldwide NEV brand development.
The Center will consistently engage in research, cultivation, evaluation, enhancement, promotion and collaboration related to global new energy vehicle brands, supporting the upgrading and growth of these brands as well as the high-quality and sustainable development of the industry. The Center's team consists of two complementary units based in Beijing and Chongqing, each with distinct focus areas and specialties that synergistically support one another.
Specifically, in terms of brand research, the Center will conduct foundational, forward-looking and strategic research on automotive brand development, focusing on national priorities as well as needs from industries, enterprises, industrial clusters and international cooperation. Its work will span brand-related policies and regulations, standards and specifications, academic theories and internationalization aspects, producing relevant outcomes to provide theoretical support and policy recommendations for building China into a strong automotive brand nation, while offering empowerment services and consulting advice to brand owners.
Regarding brand evaluation, the Center will systematically develop a standard system for new energy vehicle brands, formulate key standards and specifications, create relevant evaluation models, carry out applied research on brand standards and industry empowerment initiatives, and organize and implement brand evaluation programs.
In terms of brand promotion, the Center will facilitate brand building and development by addressing key elements throughout the entire lifecycle of new energy vehicle brands, collaborating with relevant stakeholders to effectively communicate the narratives of NEV brands.
Regarding international cooperation, the Center will promote the transfer of expertise from global automotive brand leaders to empower NEV brand development, showcase outstanding NEV enterprises, high-quality products, advanced technologies and pioneering practices worldwide, and facilitate international mutual inspection and certification, brand collaboration and mutual learning in the NEV sector.
For talent development, the Center will formulate standards for brand engineers and related professionals, implement training programs and recognition initiatives for NEV brand practitioners, and advance NEV brand construction through specialized talent development projects.
Additionally, the Center will consolidate diverse channels of public welfare resources to support NEV brand science popularization, academic research, brand evaluation and promotion, as well as international exchange programs, thereby enhancing public understanding and acceptance of new energy vehicles and fostering positive automotive brand culture to contribute to harmonious automotive industry development.
