From May 23 to 26, the 6th Western China International Fair for Investment and Trade (WCIFIT) is being held at Chongqing International Expo Center. The Xiushan Pavilion is located at Booth B07, Hall N5, with a display area of 120m2.

In order to better highlight the theme of this WCIFIT, "Joining Hands with the West for a Brighter Future", the pavilion focuses on showcasing Xiushan's new achievements in development in the new era, its unique advantages in location and investment, history and culture, and its image as a modern city suitable for living, working, leisure, and tourism. It highlights achievements in the development of industries such as industry, agriculture, and commerce & logistics, makes full use of modern technologies such as sound, light, and electricity, and prominently displayed more than 50 varieties of healthcare products including deep-processed mugwort products, bear bile powder, and wine-processed polygonatum, emphasizing Xiushan's industrial characteristics.

In addition, during the fair, Xiushan signed a major project on-site for the construction of a new titanium nitride alloy material production base.

It is reported that Xiushan County was established in the first year of Emperor Qianlong of the Qing Dynasty (A.D.1736), and in 1983 it became an autonomous county for the Tujia and Miao ethnic groups. The county covers an area of 2,462 square kilometers, with 5 subdistricts, 22 townships, and a total population of 670,000. The territory consists of one-third plains, one-third hills, and one-third mountains. The central part of the county is the largest plain in the Wuling Mountains (758 square kilometers), known as the "Gateway to Hunan and Guizhou, the Pearl of Wuling", and the "Little Chengdu". In 2023, Xiushan achieved a regional GDP of RMB36.95 billion, with a growth rate of 0.3 percentage points, higher than the municipality average, ranking first in southeastern Chongqing.

Xiushan enjoys unique geographical conditions. Situated at the junction of Chongqing, Hunan, Guizhou, and Hubei, Xiushan enjoys the locational advantage of "One Foot in Three Provinces, Three Provinces Sharing One City". It serves as an important corridor linking the Chengdu-Chongqing Economic Circle with the Beibu Gulf Economic Zone and the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. It is Chongqing's "bridgehead" city in southeast Chongqing, a regional comprehensive transportation hub, and an eastern node of the New International Land-Sea Trade Corridor. Within a radius of 180 kilometers are four airports: Qianjiang Wulingshan Airport, Zhangjiajie Hehua Airport, Tongren Fenghuang Airport, and Xiangxi Biancheng Airport.

Xiushan is rich in elements and resources. Located in the upper reaches of the Yuan River, a tributary of the Yangtze River, and within the Wuling Mountain biodiversity and soil and water conservation ecological function zone, Xiushan is endowed with unique natural resources. It has more than 1,270 types of traditional Chinese medicinal herbs and over 20 proven extractable mineral resources. Its landform consists equally of plains, hills, and mountains, with the county's central plain being the largest in the Wuling Mountains, covering 758 square kilometers, with 522 square kilometers available for construction. This provides the carrying capacity for a medium-sized city. Water, land, and other ecological resources can support a population of over one million. It is renowned as the "Gateway to Hunan and Guizhou, the Pearl of Wuling".

In recent years, Xiushan High-tech Zone has achieved initial results. Xiushan has fully advanced the strategy of "Strengthening the County with Industry and Technology", unswervingly promoting the high-quality development of manufacturing. In February 2022, the "Chongqing Xiushan High-tech Zone" was established, with a total planned area of 15.3 square kilometers, of which 8.1 square kilometers have been built.

Currently, the High-tech Zone deploys the innovation chain around the industrial chain, arranges the industrial chain around the innovation chain, and is striving to build a "235" manufacturing industry cluster system. It focuses on creating two 10-billion-level leading industries: biomedicine and new materials. It is deeply integrated into the development of the New International Land-Sea Trade Corridor, advancing the upgrading of modern service industries, comprehensively promoting the development of pillar industries such as food and agricultural product processing, electronic information, and auto parts, and accelerating the formation of new quality productive forces. First, the pharmaceutical industry. Pharmaceutical and health enterprises such as Shenzhen Neptunus, Tianjin Hongri, and Chongqing Hilan (Guotai Kangning) have been introduced, vigorously developing products such as Chinese herbal decoction pieces, Chinese medicine formula granules, and proprietary Chinese medicines. At present, there are 6 pharmaceutical enterprises (4 above designated size), with an annual output value of RMB2.86 billion. Second, the new materials industry. At present, there are 14 new material production enterprises (7 above designated size), with an annual output value of RMB3.7 billion. Third, the food and agricultural product processing industry. At present, there are 16 leading enterprises such as Xiangda Group, Dekon Group, and Qifenxiang (8 above designated size), with an annual output value of RMB1.65 billion. Fourth, the electronic information industry. At present, there are 10 electronic information enterprises (7 above designated size), with electronic product manufacturing enterprises represented by Max Electronics and Zhongxin Electronics expanding their production capacity year by year, with an annual output value of RMB2.4 billion. Fifth, the auto parts industry. 26 auto parts enterprises such as Shanhuan Industrial, Xincheng Machinery, and Xingwang Machinery have been introduced and settled (12 above designated size), with an annual output value of RMB1.3 billion. Sixth, the modern service industry. Guided by the construction of the New International Land-Sea Trade Corridor, it focuses on developing modern logistics, e-commerce, wholesale and retail trade, and import-export businesses. At present, there are more than 4,000 market entities, including 541 e-commerce enterprises, 89 logistics enterprises, and 60 export-oriented enterprises, with an output value of RMB30 billion. In the near future, the High-tech Zone will be expanded to 13.66 square kilometers, and in the long term it will be expanded to 30 square kilometers, aiming to build a "60 billion-level High-tech Zone". Efforts will be accelerated to build a regional processing and manufacturing center in the Wuling Mountain area and an eastern logistics hub of the New International Land-Sea Trade Corridor. In 2024, a municipal-level High-tech Zone will be fully established, and by 2028, efforts will be made to build it into a national-level High-tech Zone.
