The 7th WCIFIT | "City of Design" Industrial Design New Product Launch Event Sets to Commence
Industrial design is a key leading link in manufacturing and a crucial traction point and entry point for cultivating new quality productive forces. On the afternoon of May 22, the "City of Design" Industrial Design New Product Launch Event, as an important component of the 7th Western China International Fair for Investment and Trade (WCIFIT) was held at Hall N5 of Chongqing International Expo Center.
This event focused on key industrial sectors such as intelligent connected new energy vehicles, high-end motorcycles and intelligent equipment manufacturing. It aimed to showcase Chongqing's outstanding design achievements to the global market, build an international design resource connection platform and accelerate the development of producer services. This event specially invited international partners including South Korean and Singapore, as well as cities called " City of Design" such as Beijing, Wuhan, and Shenzhen, and industrial design profession associations from provinces and cities such as Shandong, Anhui, and Sichuan, jointly establishing a cross-regional and internationally connected innovation collaboration network. This initiative will strongly boost Chongqing's efforts in building a "City of Design" and a national demonstration city for characteristic industrial design. By gathering international design elements and strengthening industrial cooperation, it will help elevate the level of openness in the western region, both internally and externally, and cultivate a virtuous development ecosystem integrating trade facilitation with consumption upgrading.
The event organizer stated that Chongqing is accelerating the construction of a modern industrial system through its "Design Empowers Manufacturing" strategy. The event will focus on international collaboration, industrial upgrading, and the establishment of an innovation ecosystem, showcasing Chongqing's global influence as the first "City of Design" in Western China. The event will highlight three key features.
First, international design cooperation will be further deepened, with the introduction of South Korean design resources to strengthen global collaboration platforms. By facilitating design supply-demand matchmaking, the event will enhance design cooperation between China and Singapore.
Second, "Chongqing Design" products will take center stage, with the event unveiling a series of innovative achievements in fields such as intelligent connected new energy vehicles, high-end equipment, and biomedicine. This will highlight the significant outcomes of deep integration between "design and manufacturing," demonstrating Chongqing's breakthrough progress in advancing its manufacturing sector toward the high end of the value chain.
Third, innovation momentum in design will continue to be unleashed. Enterprises and academic institutions will leverage their respective strengths to strengthen industry-university-research collaboration, carrying out design cooperation and talent cultivation across multiple industrial sectors.
It is reported that the event has already confirmed participation from industry representatives and corporate leaders from countries and regions such as South Korea and Singapore, as well as multiple Chinese provinces and cities including Beijing, Wuhan, Shenzhen, Shandong, and Anhui.
