Spotlight on WCIFIT | Banan District Unveils "Chongqing International Biological City" as Signature Industrial Park

From May 23 to 26, the 6th Western China International Fair for Investment and Trade ("WCIFIT") is being grandly held in Chongqing International Expo Center. Banan District made its WCIFIT debut themed "Chongqing International Biological City," delivering a comprehensive, multi-dimensional showcase of the district's distinctive strengths and appeal.

According to the Commission of Commerce of Banan District, the Banan Pavilion is situated at Booth A04 in Hall N7 (Modern Manufacturing Zone), spanning 506 square meters. The exhibition hall will present an integrated showcase of Banan District's geographic advantages, natural resources, and industrial landscape, with a strategic focus on biomedicine, digital infrastructure, and advanced intelligent manufacturing. Framed within the broader context of the Chengdu-Chongqing Economic Circle, it offers a 360-degree exposition of the district's development trajectory.

In recent years, Banan has systematically planned a suite of landmark projects, policies, reforms, and platforms, integrating large corridors, large-scale logistics, high-volume trade, expansive platforms, efficient ports, pivotal hubs, and core industries into one seamless chain - where corridors drive logistics, logistics fuel trade and investment, and trade and investment, in turn, power industrial growth. At Booth B06 in Hall N6 of the WCIFIT, the Chongqing Highway Logistics Base presents a dedicated exhibition that delves into Banan's accelerated advances in constructing the New International Land-Sea Trade Corridor and advancing an open economy agenda.

As the acknowledged pacesetter of Chongqing's biomedicine sector, the Chongqing International Biological City on display at this year's fair has, with the successive implementation of a cluster of "tip-of-the-spire" projects - each either China-leading or the sole one of its kind in the municipality - become one of the country's most industrially potent parks. To date, the Biological City has attracted more than 120 projects and built an industrial scale exceeding RMB100 billion. At this year's WCIFIT, the Chongqing International Biological City showcases a suite of cutting-edge medical-device innovations, including a high-throughput digital-microscopy image scanning system (scanner + AI software, fully integrated), upper- and lower-limb motor rehabilitation trainers, one-piece foldable posterior-chamber intraocular lenses, posterior-chamber phakic refractive lenses, rigid gas-permeable orthokeratology contact lenses, and a native dual-4K fluorescence endoscopic camera system.

Moreover, Banan District also features a high-tech flagship enterprise - Chongqing Millison Technologies Inc. - among its exhibitors. The company specializes in the R&D, manufacturing and sales of precision aluminum-alloy die-casting components for the telecommunications and automotive sectors. Operating four production bases - in Chongqing, Xiangyang, Dongguan and Ma'anshan - it offers customers a turnkey service that spans concurrent product design and development, die-cast tooling design and fabrication, high-pressure die casting, precision CNC machining, surface treatment and powder coating, form-in-place (FIP) dispensing, final assembly and comprehensive inspection. At this year's WCIFIT, Chongqing Millison Technologies Inc. is showcasing a portfolio that includes integrated automotive rear floor panels, electric-motor housings, precision end covers, and connection/cooling plates.

In advancing the development of the Chengdu-Chongqing Economic Circle, Banan District and Wenjiang District of Chengdu, Sichuan Province, are working in concert under the "two-way empowerment, win-win cooperation" framework to jointly perform the "Twin-City Story" and build a robust economic circle. At this year's WCIFIT, the Banan Pavilion has dedicated a special "Wenjiang Zone," where leading Wenjiang-based enterprises - including Sichuan Biokin Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd., Sichuan Kelun-Biotech Biopharmaceutical Co., Ltd.), Chengdu Hehui Pharmaceutical Technology Co., Ltd., Chengdu Yongkang Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd., and Chengdu Qiankun Veterinary Pharmaceuticals Co. Ltd. - are showcasing a diverse portfolio of medical devices, pharmaceuticals, and functional food products.

During this year's WCIFIT, three projects from Banan District were signed under the fair's major-project signing ceremony. In addition, Banan District took part in the municipality's third-batch "Starry Sky" special signing session for the software and information-services sector, leveraging the soft-informatics industry to inject new momentum, fresh vitality, and distinct advantages into the district's high-quality development.
