The 5th WCIFIT | Chongqing Wulong Signs a RMB-10-Billion Deal
On May 21, the 5th Western China International Fair for Investment and Trade (WCIFIT) successfully concluded. During the event, Wulong District of Chongqing signed an agreement with the Chongqing Branch of China Datang Corporation Ltd. on an integrated hydropower-wind-solar-storage demonstration project, with a total investment of RMB10.985 billion.

The Wulong Pavilion, located in Hall N7, was designed to highlight Wulong's magnificent landscapes. Its main structure featured three spectacular landmarks: the Three Natural Bridges on the front, Fairy Mountain on the back, and Furong Cave on the side. The main viewing surface showcased the karst landform of the Three Natural Bridges, beneath which were seven gold characters Wulong "check-in" attractions. Passing through the Bridges led visitors into Fairy Mountain, where six major industry chains were presented: study tours, sports, arts, wellness, love and marriage, and services. In addition, 11 agricultural and sideline product enterprises exhibited 32 product categories and 222 single items; 1 cultural and creative enterprise displayed 18 single items; and 9 industrial enterprises showcased 6 categories of green industrial products with 22 single items.
During the Fair, the integrated hydropower-wind-solar-storage demonstration base project was officially signed. The project, led by the Chongqing Branch of China Datang Corporation Ltd., involves a total investment of RMB10.985 billion. It is planned to include the development and construction of a 1.2 million kW pumped storage hydropower project, a 410,000 kW wind power project, and a 290,000 kW photovoltaic project.
According to reports, upon completion, the project will generate 2.168 billion kWh of electricity annually, with an annual output value of over RMB1.48 billion and annual tax revenue of over RMB145 million. The project has a total construction period of eight years and will be advanced in phases, taking into account the market conditions and engineering characteristics of Yinpan pumped storage, wind, and solar power.
