New Era, New Journey, New Chongqing | Chongqing Municipal SOEs "Year-end Sprint": Securing Orders and Expanding Markets
Chongqing Daily learned from the Chongqing State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission (Chongqing SASAC) on December 20 that in recent days, the municipal SOEs have been actively securing orders, expanding markets, and accelerating project construction.
On December 19, sparks flew and machines roared in the workshop of Chongqing Pump Industry Co., Ltd. (CQPI), a subsidiary of Chongqing Machinery & Electronics Holding (Group) Co., Ltd. (CME). Workers were busy with production there. "We have just won a bid for six sets of high-temperature circulating water pumps for the Lianyungang Petrochemical Project, with a total contract value of nearly RMB10 million. Our order books are full, and everyone is highly motivated!" A site director of CQPI noted that the company's 1,800 high-pressure water descaling systems exported to Algeria were just delivered a few days ago. This marks China's first export of a strip steel descaling system to Africa and another major overseas order for CQPI following projects such as South Korea's POSCO.
Additionally, Qijiang Gear Transmission Co., Ltd. (QJGT) has also been occupied with securing orders and ensuring deliveries these days. A relevant official from the company noted that, following its bulk supply to Zoomlion Heavy Industry Science & Technology Co., Ltd. (Zoomlion), the company has successively secured bulk orders: 119 crane transmission assemblies and gear component orders worth RMB 11 million from Sany Heavy Industry Co., Ltd.
Meanwhile, QJGT has also rolled out lightweight products with over 1,400Nm and integrated retarder products, leveraging these to successfully secure an order for 594 supporting assemblies to be supplied to Ankai Automobile Co., Ltd.
"After the COVID-19 pandemic, a significant amount of pent-up market demand is waiting to be released, which presents an opportunity for us," said a representative from Chongqing Foreign Trade and Economic Cooperation Group. The Group's subsidiary, Ming De Group, signed 12 deals in December alone, totaling USD85.12 million. Another subsidiary, Chongqing Yumaotong Company, actively communicated with planting bases in Sichuan and Chongqing to fulfill orders for the export of Yunyang navel oranges to Southeast Asia in full container loads, paving the way for future exports of Fengjie navel oranges and facilitating the first-ever overseas shipment of Changshou Shatian pomelos.
A relevant official from the Chongqing SASAC noted that municipal SOEs have made encouraging progress in securing orders and expanding markets. For example, CQGI has provided RMB43 million worth of centrifugal refrigeration units for a high-purity crystalline silicon project in Xinjiang; Chengdu Aircraft Corporation (CAC) has exported GW76 wind turbine blades to the UAE; and Chongqing Cummins, through its "Cloud-based" marketing initiatives, is projected to achieve a 17% month-on-month growth in sales of high-horsepower products in December.
Furthermore, a series of key industrial projects are also being carried out with full force. For instance, Chongqing Standard Fasteners Industry Co., Ltd. (CFIC), a subsidiary of CME, is proactively pressing ahead with the informatization development of Phase II of Huaneng Luohuang Power Plant and Shuangfu Base; Chongqing Changjiang Bearing Co., Ltd. (CJB)'s technological upgrading project has entered the trial production stage one month ahead of schedule; QJGT is pushing forward the trial development of transmission projects for SAIC Hongyan, CRRC.EV, Fengchuan Powertrain, Zoomlion, and Sany Heavy Industry; Chongqing City Construction Investment (Group) Co., Ltd. (CQCT) is pressing ahead to hit the annual targets for 9 municipal-level key projects, 15 construction sections, and 41 work zones under its supervision.
