The 4th Western China International Fair for Investment and Trade (WCIFIT) commenced on July 21 at Chongqing International Expo Center and Chongqing Yuelai International Convention Center. Seizing the opportunity organized by the Department of Commerce of Yunnan Province, Honghe Prefecture actively promoted local industrial development, expanded investment attraction achievements, and hosted a comprehensive thematic promotion conference to provide service support for building, supplementing, extending, and strengthening key industrial chains, yielding substantial results. Under the theme "Joining Hands with the West for a Brighter Future," the 4th WCIFIT centered on national strategies such as the Belt and Road Initiative, Yangtze River Economic Belt development, the Western Development Campaign, and Chengdu-Chongqing Economic Circle construction, focusing on advancing high-level openness and high-quality development in western China. Through a hybrid online-offline format, the event featured multiple forums, major project signings, and trade activities, alongside the concurrent China (Chongqing) Cross-Border E-Commerce Trade Fair. During the fair, the Honghe delegation conducted field visits to enterprises including Jinke Smart Services Group Co., Ltd., Chongqing Banan Highway Logistics Base, Dalong Network Technology Co., Ltd., and Chongqing Polycomp International Corporation. On July 21, Honghe Prefecture organized an industrial investment promotion symposium in Chongqing, inviting globally renowned enterprises, industry leaders, and central state-owned enterprises. The prefecture delivered targeted presentations on its competitive advantages to consular institutions of Vietnam and Italy in Chongqing, as well as 35 associations and enterprises. Photograph courtesy of Jiangbei News On July 22, Jiangbei District signed four major projects at the Signing of Key Projects of WCIFIT, including the Chengtong Guohe Project, the BlueChi (Chongqing) Private Equity Investment Partnership Enterprise (Limited Partnership) Project under the SME Development Fund, the Strategic Cooperation Project between Jiangbei District and JD Group, and the China Headquarters Project of Singapore Royal Emerald Realty Pte. Ltd., with a total investment of RMB7.35 billion. Among these, Singapore Royal Emerald Realty Pte. Ltd. will invest RMB1.35 billion to introduce an art-fashion luxury hotel highlighting Chongqing's mountain-city culture, develop a comprehensive cultural-tourism performance complex, and launch the first Chinese outlets of the century-old coffee brand WARUNG TINGGI and the renowned Indonesian cuisine brand MANDEH. Attendees included Fortune Global 500 giants like CREC, Sinopec, and JD Group, with 31 projects spanning 10 sectors: IT services, modern finance, manufacturing, construction, education, high-end commerce, cultural tourism & healthcare, among others. Combined with the four WCIFIT-signed projects, Jiangbei secured RMB49.2 billion during this WCIFIT edition. Notably, the signed projects demonstrated three distinctive characteristics: large-scale financial sector projects, numerous digital economy projects, and concentrated headquarters economy projects. ● Modern Finance: 7 projects (investment exceeding RMB8.2 billion) to amplify the core influence of Chongqing's Western Financial Center hub. ● Digital Economy: 11 IT service projects (total investment over RMB6.4 billion), reflecting Jiangbei's leadership in software and information services. ● Headquarters Economy: 5 projects (investment surpassing RMB16 billion). In recent years, Jiangbei District has consistently optimized its business environment by benchmarking against international standards, focusing on enterprise needs, and deepening reforms in "streamlining administration, delegating powers, and improving services". The district has implemented a package of policies including 10 measures to create "the most business-friendly district", with various facilitation measures being successively rolled out. The 4th Western China International Fair for Investment and Trade (WCIFIT) is being held at Chongqing International Expo Center from July 21 to 24, where the Jiangjin Pavilion, spanning 468 square meters, is located in Hall N7 of the Investment and Trade Exhibition Area - the Chengdu-Chongqing Economic Circle Construction Pavilion. The Jiangjin Pavilion features an innovative design centered on the vision of "high-quality development of 'Five Bases and One City'," comprising six thematic zones: a sci-tech innovation hub, an inland open frontier and land-port integrated logistics base, an advanced manufacturing base, a rural revitalization demonstration site, a leisure tourism destination, and a livable city. Each section adopts an open and transparent layout, incorporating high-tech elements such as sound, lighting, digital displays, and interactive screens to showcase Jiangjin's preliminary achievements in building the "Five Bases and One City." A highlight of the pavilion is the "Wisdom Tree" formed by interconnected LED screens at the atrium's ceiling and floor, symbolizing Jiangjin's high-quality development and enhancing the booth's visual impact with a futuristic, technologically sophisticated, and intelligent aesthetic. The entrance's design extended the district's initial letter "J," conveying Jiangjin's open attitude toward embracing the future and welcoming global investors. At the fair, Jiangjin showcases representative enterprises from sectors including sci-tech innovation, consumer goods, agricultural machinery, and tourism services, comprehensively demonstrating the district's superior investment environment and vast development potential. The exhibition underscores Jiangjin's pivotal role in the Chengdu-Chongqing Economic Circle's development and its strategic position as a frontier for inland openness, highlighting the district's achievements in open economic development. The enterprises and products participating in this WCIFIT are meticulously selected, exemplifying Jiangjin's distinctive development characteristics and regional features. Over 30 enterprises showcase more than 40 products, ranging from high-tech and precision-engineered items such as drones, new materials, bionic sheep, fiber-optic gyro inertial navigation systems, and neural network cables, to renowned local specialties including grains and oils, alcoholic beverages, Sichuan peppercorns, and puffed rice candy. During the fair, Jiangjin signed two major projects totaling RMB2.8 billion in investment. East Genesis Tech Company Limited committed approximately RMB1 billion to lease about 10,000 square meters of standardized factory space within the Jiangjin Comprehensive Bonded Zone for establishing a liquid crystal module and assembly processing trade center. With a six-month construction period, the project is projected to achieve a monthly production capacity of 800,000 liquid crystal modules and assemblies at full operation. The raw materials will be primarily imported from globally recognized liquid crystal display panel suppliers such as BOE and AU Optronics in Hong Kong, then processed within the Comprehensive Bonded Zone through cutting, testing, and firmware programming procedures to manufacture finished LCD screens and assemblies for brands including Realme and Transsion. Heyou Solarenergy's 500,000-ton annual photovoltaic materials project, spanning 500 mu (approximately 33.3 hectares), had previously signed an investment agreement with Baisha Industrial Park on December 18, 2020, focusing on manufacturing photovoltaic module panels and backplanes. The project plans to utilize about 350 mu of designated land to construct sixteen 0.5GW photovoltaic module production lines, along with supporting facilities including an R&D center, public utility systems, and office buildings, representing a total investment of RMB1.8 billion yuan. At full capacity, the operation is expected to generate over RMB10 billion in annual output value, contribute more than RMB230 million in tax revenue, and consume approximately 38,000 tons of standard coal per year. Located in Hall N7 (Chengdu-Chongqing Economic Circle Construction Pavilion) with an area of 210 square meters, the Kaizhou Pavilion primarily displays the latest cooperation achievements between Chengdu and Chongqing as well as key node cities. The exhibition layout is divided into three sections: "Flavorful Kaizhou," "Delightful Kaizhou," and "Open Kaizhou." The "Open Kaizhou" section highlights industrial development achievements, investment policies, and key projects, featuring corporate profiles and products from major industrial enterprises. "Flavorful Kaizhou" demonstrates rural revitalization and agricultural development accomplishments through specialty and export agricultural products. "Delightful Kaizhou" presents cultural tourism achievements via videos and live performances, showcasing Kaizhou's cultural heritage, distinctive tourism resources, major tourism investment projects, and cultural creative products. At this year's WCIFIT, Kaizhou District organizes 33 enterprises to participate, including electronics and information technology companies such as Jiabaocheng Energy, Zhike IoT, and VDL Electronics; equipment manufacturers like Chongqing Qualidy PRECISION Mechanical Industry Co., Ltd. and Xinhuilian; biomedical firms including Wangye Biology, Tianzhi Pharmaceutical, and Rongkangtang Pharmaceutical; materials science enterprises Hiton Environmental Technology and Zhiben Group; as well as "Flavorful Kaizhou" specialty products like Zishui Dried Tofu, Nanmen Brown Sugar, Kaiweizai Snacks, and Kaizhou Sausages. During the WCIFIT's signing ceremony for key projects, Kaizhou District will ink a RMB10-billion agreement with Chongqing Guanhui Photovoltaic Technology Co., Ltd. The project involves constructing a 4×1200t/d photovoltaic glass production and deep-processing base in Kaizhou, which will drive upstream and downstream investments in photovoltaic components. With planned land use of 800 mu (approximately 53.3 hectares) and total investment of about RMB10 billion, the project will establish four 1,200t/d photovoltaic glass production lines, ore refining processing lines, supporting deep-processing lines for photovoltaic glass, and photovoltaic glass component production lines. Upon reaching full production capacity, the project is expected to generate annual output value exceeding RMB6 billion and contribute no less than RMB580 million in annual tax revenue. At this edition of WCIFIT, Pengshui signed 11 projects with a total investment commitment of approximately RMB13.7 billion, spanning industries such as new materials, clean energy, cold chain logistics, eco-wellness, and cultural-tourism integration. Among these, Chongqing Shengtai Enterprise Management Co., Ltd.'s high-precision processing project for 1 million tons of premium calcite is highlighted as a key municipal-level signed project. The introduction of initiatives like the Green New Materials Eco-Industrial Park, Chongqing Rice Congee with Fried Dough Sticks Industry Chain, and New City Smart Cold Chain Logistics Port is expected to significantly boost Pengshui's industrial growth.
